At the end of April 2011, GBI (Green Business Index), a project conducted by Green Revolution Association with the support of the Green Area Ecological Centre Association, under the high patronage of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, invited all green companies from Romania to register online and fill in a questionnaire to show the companies’ concern over the environment and natural resources.
The companies could apply, optional and free of charge, in any of the seven categories from GBI: sustainable development, impact on the environment, transportation, use of resources, green buildings, green procurement and waste management.
The purpose of the annual GBI is to offer the authorities an overview regarding the existent situation on the Romanian market. The winning companies are awarded within GBI Gala, the most important Gala in Romania to acknowledge accomplishments in the field of environmental protection.
GreenTek Lighting managed to rank 17th out of 88 participating companies, showing responsibility for protecting the environment and sustainable development.
